Cape Liptrap
The Dolphins
ABOUT
The Dolphins is a family retreat available on a limited basis for short-stay rental. Facing out towards Bass Strait and the Southern Ocean this is a unique setting perfect for those seeking peace and quiet: windswept vistas, great beach walks and in summer a private, safe, beach. The house is fully self-contained, its rainwater as pure as nature can deliver and solar generation outweighs what is consumed from the grid. The surrounding Cape Liptrap Coastal Park is brimming with wildlife with wombats, wallabies, koalas, echidna and crimson parrots a regular presence around the house.

THINGS TO DO
Wine and Dine

South Gippsland has numerous wineries, breweries and distilleries. Some favourites include Warratah Hills Winery at Fish Creek, the Loch Brewery & Distillery in the small village of Loch and for a classic pub meal you can't beat the famous art deco Fish Creek Hotel.
Cultural Sites
Explore Grinders Rocks and place yourself back into a time before European arrival. This foreshore was a special place in Indigenous culture and mythology. The working lighthouse offers spectacular coastal views and no visit to the area is complete without exploring the historic lime kilns at South Walkerville. These kilns built 19th century Melbourne.
Leisure Activities
Beach walks and cycling on quiet, undulating roads in the Walkerville, Sandy Point, Fish Creek environs. The Great Southern Rail Trail from Leongatha to Port Welshpool can be picked up at Fish Creek. Dingy sailing and kite surfing are popular at Sandy Point and there is great snorkelling in the cove below the house. Bring your fishing gear and license and you can also try your hand at getting a meal of snapper, flathead, gummy shark or whiting.
